This is where Out of the Way Places began. After writing and selling a story for the hit television series NCIS, Bill was slated to write the teleplay so it could be aired during a prime ratings period. Then classic Hollywood misfortune struck. The creative staff of NCIS was fired and with them went Bill's story and assignment.
Rathat than reboot with yet another spec script, Bill decided to do something he had always wanted to do. Create his own series. And it had to be a special kind of series.
A half hour anthology.
It started with a very simple premise: to continue with the tradition of writers like Serling, Beaumont, Matheson, Johnson, Hamner, Ellison. Not to reboot a series but to bring back a type of storytelling that no longer existed.
Bill's goal was to write the pilot and see how that went. It went very well. Actually surprisingly well So the goal became much more ambitious: to write a full season or as they used to say in the old days "a pilot plus twenty-two."
Twenty-three teleplays later he had accomplised that goal.
That is what Out of the Way Places The Televison Series is. Twenty-three complete, camera -ready half hour episodes. With a good fifty more in various outline forms behind them.
To paraphrase a rather famous movie line: "If he makes it, they will watch."
Bill is now actively seeing representation for the series. You may contact him via the contact page.
